Uh, so, this is my town right now. And those are the mountains.
Just to clarify I don’t live in Hell even though it’s 106 degrees and fire is everywhere.

tremblinggigan asked: I'm sure others have this question as well so feel free to answer publicly, but when I shadow box I'm mostly visualising an opponent and basically am make believe fighting them yes? I understand that works well for strikes and foot work but how can i
(Get more from it than just foot work and striking speed?)
You can get a lot of benefit from shadowboxing. It’s an amazing tool in the absence of training partners and in addition to normal training.
- Speed sets of 30 Seconds on, 30 Seconds off for Speed and Conditioning
- Shadowbox for 30 Minutes or more to build muscular and cardiovascular endurance.
- Imagine you’re fighting a grappler and do some “shadow grappling” in the middle of your routine. Practice sprawling, takedowns, and moving while on the ground, defending and attempting imaginary submissions.
- Shadowbox with a weighted vest to push yourself.
- Try jumping techniques to train explosiveness and power.
- Shadowbox in ankle/knee/waist/chest deep water to further train your strength.
These are some examples of what you can do with just shadowboxing. Have fun!
To get really good at shadow boxing you need to study your opponent extensively so that you know what they’ll do. Also, study yourself, maybe you don’t know what you do from another perspective.
